Practice-in-Conservation

Practice-in-Conservation was founded in 2010 by two Dutch paper conservators, Claire and Eliza, working in Amsterdam. The idea of the name comes from the desire to make a link between research and practice in conservation. We find it important to provide workshops and give up-to-date information for emerging and established book and paper conservators.

At this moment we are presenting the Local repairs on Iron Gall ink workshop especially for book and paper conservators. On this website you will find more information about the workshop and the technique we developed with the use of remoisteneble tissue, the Dutch Fe-migration mending test (DMT) and the sponge-blotter system.
